Aroostook County

North of Houlton Aroostook County has several small peaks to climb overlooking farmland along the Canadian border. The region becomes more mountainous and remote as you travel across the northern tip of the state towards the Quebec border.

Downeast and Acadia

This region includes Acadia National Park, one of the most visited national parks in the United States. The region stretches north along the coast and ends along the Canadian border where you will find the Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge.

Highlands

Mount Katahdin in Baxter State Park is the highest peak in the state. Any of the peaks on the park provide opportunities for amazing adventures. The region extends south to include the city of Bangor.

This region begins in and around Augusta and extends north to the Bigelow Mountain preserve. The region continues to extend north all the way to the Canadian border in Quebec.
